Contract: 200 South - Bus Stop Shelter Installation (Landmark Companies Inc.)
end

AGENDA ITEM TYPE:
Procurement Contract/Change Order

RECOMMENDATION:
Approve and authorize the Executive Director to execute the Purchase Order and associated disbursements under a State of Utah contract MA3939 with Landmark Companies for installation of bus stop shelters from 2nd East to 9th East on 200 South in Salt Lake City in the not-to-exceed amount of $446,234.00.

BACKGROUND:
Salt Lake City and UTA are reconstructing the 200 South Corridor between 400 W and 900 E to create a transit priority street. As part of this project, UTA is managing a Bus Stop Program to build 23 new bus stops along the 200 South corridor. This project will be executed in 2 phases. UTA has selected Landmark Companies under State Contract MA3939 to install 13 shelters on Phase 1 of the project. The new bus stops will make a positive visual representation for UTA, as well as make a positive contribution to the community.

DISCUSSION:
UTA Staff is requesting approval of the Contract with Landmark Companies in the amount of $446,234.00. The scope of this request is to install bus stop shelters previously purchased on newly constructed stops on 200 South. The shelters will include lights, benches and handrails. These stops were constructed as part of an agreement with Salt Lake City and as part of the 200 South redesign. The Contract amount has been determined to be within the scope of the State Contract Scope Agreement. The pricing has been determined to be fair and reasonable based on both a UTA Independent Cost Estimate and performance of a Price Analysis.
