RECOMMENDATION:
Approve this contract and authorize the Executive Director to execute Amendment 3 to the Ski Bus Agreement with Snowbasin Resort Company
BACKGROUND:
Utah Transit Authority and Snowbasin Resort Company (“the Resort”) have a longstanding relationship to promote the sustainability and growth of the Ski Bus Service. For over 20 years, the Resort has contracted with UTA to provide transit service to employees and Ski Pass holders.
For the 2021-22 Ski Season, Snowbasin Resort Company and UTA entered into Ski Bus Agreement Amendment 1 (approved by the board of trustees on December 1, 2021). As part of the agreement, the Resort received transit passes to be given to their authorized users which included employees and season pass holders. The value of the contract for the 2021-22 Ski Season was $46,381. In April of 2022 UTA and Snowbasin Resort entered into Amendment 2 to extend a certain route covered under the contract for one additional week of service through Sunday, April 3, 2022. The value of Amendment 2 was $2,487.
DISCUSSION:
In the spirit of Snowbasin and UTA’s working relationship, both partners desire to extend the contract one more year through amendment 3. The value of the service provided December 10, 2022 through March 26, 2023 shall be $74,611. UTA and the Resort may mutually agree to extend the dates of service based on a pre-determined rate as listed in Amendment 3. All other terms and conditions shall remain unchanged.
