BACKGROUND:                                                                                                                                 

UTA has contracts with Gillig LLC to procure buses.  Gillig and other vehicle producers have faced major inflation/market challenges in recent years.  Representatives from Gillig would like to present on the realities of the current environment per request of the Executive Director.

DISCUSSION:                                                                                                                                      

Gillig will be presenting on current market challenges the industry is facing. They have requested cost increases on two bus orders, which will be on the board agenda for consideration on 3/22/2023. This presentation is to provide the board with information prior to considering these cost increase requests.

As stated above, current market challenges have led to cost increases for bus purchases.
