RECOMMENDATION:
Approve and authorize the Executive Director to execute a contract and associated disbursements with HDR Engineering, Inc. to provide bridge inspection services 3 year contract with two - one- year options for the total amount of $1,642,000 for all 5 years.
BACKGROUND:
FRA requires the inspection of UTA bridges to occur every year. This new contract will be a 3-year contract with two - one year options to provide these inspection services, as we have previously done. Bridge inspections require physical inspection of bridges and associated components with photos, documentation, and ratings to identify potential hazards/concerns. This procurement was conducted using a competitive Request for Qualifications (RFQu)process.
DISCUSSION:
UTA issued an RFQu for the bridge inspection program and received three proposals. HDR Engineering Inc. was selected using a qualifications-based selection system. This contract is for HDR Engineering, Inc. to provide yearly inspections with subsequent reports on the UTA-owned bridges for the next 3 years with 2 - 1 year options.
