RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the request to issue two thousand seven hundred (2,700) Complimentary Passes for the 2026 APTA Bus Roadeo and Mobility Conference.
BACKGROUND:
UTA is proud to host the International Bus Roadeo and Mobility Conference May 14-20th, bringing transit professionals from across the country around the world to Utah. This event celebrates excellence in transit operations, maintenance, safety, and innovation. It’s an opportunity to showcase the professionalism, skill, and teamwork that define public transportation, and to highlight UTA as a leader in the industry.
Under the Board of Trustees Policy 4.1 and UTA Fare Policy, Complimentary Passes may be provided for transit related collaboration with partners and stakeholders.
DISCUSSION:
A complimentary day pass will be issued to APTA Bus Roadeo participants and Mobility Conference attendees.
The full premium value of the passes was used in determining the total complimentary value of the request as follows:
1 day x $10.00 per day x 2,700 passes = $27,000
ALTERNATIVES
Do not provide complimentary passes to participants.
FISCAL IMPACT:
UTA will forego a maximum potential value of $27,000 in fare revenue.
