Contract: Sponsorship Agreement (GREENbike SLC Bike Share)
end

AGENDA ITEM TYPE:
Non-Procurement Agreement

RECOMMENDATION:
Approve and authorize Executive Director to execute the contract and associated disbursements with GREENbike in the not-to-exceed amount of $225,000 for a three-year sponsorship.

BACKGROUND:
On January 22, 2020, the Executive Director executed a Sponsorship Agreement with GREENbike valued at $375,000 (contract #19-3214). UTA staff is bringing this contract renewal to the Board in accordance with established Board financial approval thresholds.

DISCUSSION:
This sponsorship with GREENbike aligns with UTA’s goal of moving Utahns to a better quality of life through clean and active last-mile transportation options. Contract changes include sponsorship pricing is now a fixed amount per year and is no longer linked to specific GREENbike stations, more attention paid to UTA pass data, and additional promo day passes are now free of charge instead of $.01 each.
The total Not-to-Exceed for this sponsorship is $225,000 over three years. Pricing is $75,000 per year (no change in annual price).
As outlined in the agreement, there are currently five GREENbike kiosks installed on UTA properties. This sponsorship contract is separate from and does not interfere with UTA’s property leasing agreements.

FISCAL IMPACT:
There is $80,000 budgeted for this sponsorship in 2024. The following years amounts of $75,000 in 2025 and $75,000 in 2026 will be included in UTA’s 5 year financial plan as annual sponsorship. This cost is managed in the Planning & Engagement budget under Contract Services, Account Number 7700.50353.92. Requisition 13040 for $225,000 was approved by Finance on December 11, 2023.
