RECOMMENDATION:
Approve and authorize the Executive Director to execute Change Order No. 4 which exercises the first-year option and adds a Tooele location to the existing contract 22-03608 with Merchants Building Maintenance Corp., who provide janitorial services to all UTA office and maintenance facilities in the amount of $1,155,746.
BACKGROUND:
The current Janitorial contract was approved by the Board on December 21, 2022 to cover services for three (3) years with two (2) one-year option periods to continue services. This contract change order is to exercise the first option year and to add a Tooele location.
DISCUSSION:
UTA Staff are confident that Merchant Building Maintenance will continue to provide UTA with the best janitorial services by exercising the first option year and also adding a new Tooele location. The new contract not-to-exceed total value will be increased to $4,449,314.04. The new option amount of $1,155,746.04 will be partially funded in the 2025 and 2026 Facilities Operations Budget.

The total option amount is included in the Facilities Operations Budget as follows:

• 2026 - Change Order Total: $866,810
