RECOMMENDATION:

Approve change order and authorize the Executive Director to execute a contract change order and associated disbursements with Jacobs Engineering Group Inc in the amount of $433,421.00, including a time extension to May 1, 2023.

BACKGROUND:

In 2019, UTA released a RFQu procurement for the design of the Ogden/WSU Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project. Bids were received and evaluated, and Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. was awarded the project.  The contract was approved by the board on 7/31/2019.

DISCUSSION:

During original negotiations for the design of the project, construction support services were not included in the contract.  Following final design there were some funds left in the project to assist with the construction support services but only enough for 6 months. This change order will allow the designer to support the construction team and assist with field issues and right of way needs that will arise during construction. The amount will cover the remaining portion of the project needs.   This change order is for the additional costs and time associated with construction support services through the duration of the project.
