Strategic Plan Minute: Achieving Organizational Excellence - Deploy UTA Organizational Excellence Systems
end
AGENDA ITEM TYPE:
Report
RECOMMENDATION:
Informational report for discussion
BACKGROUND:
At the end of 2022, UTA adopted its 2022-2030 Strategic Goals and Objectives. The strategic minute provides an update on one of the five UTA strategic initiatives - Quality of Life, Customer Experience, Organizational Excellence, Community Support, and Economic Return.
DISCUSSION:
Our organizational excellence (OE) priority moves us to a stronger Agency by connecting and aligning our work. Organizational excellence means UTA is focused on creating a meaningful employee experience where employees are empowered and engaged in improving their work and have the right systems, tools, and processes to succeed. Organizational Excellence will enable UTA to continue to be innovative and forward thinking in how we serve our customers and community. There are four organizational excellence systems: Strategy Deployment, Visual Management, Daily Improvements and Standard Follow-Up. The Executive Team has both an annual target as well as a strategic initiative associated with the OE work. Our strategic initiative is to deploy UTA OE systems across the Agency and the annual target was to yield a 5% improvement in these systems. This report shares our progress through Q3 of 2024.
