Strategic Plan Minute: Quality of Life - Radio Systems Replacement Update
end
AGENDA ITEM TYPE:
Report
RECOMMENDATION:
Informational report for discussion
BACKGROUND:
This strategic minute highlights our strategic priority; Moving Utahns to a Better Quality of Life. As UTA expands our service area and our workforce it is imperative we upgrade mission critical technologies that support our service deployment.
DISCUSSION:
This initiative is a key cross functional initiative being run out of our Enterprise Strategy Office. UTA’s radio system replacement is part of our state of good repair plan and has exceeded its useful life. At the end of 2024 we selected the solution we were going to use to replace our current radio system and will be moving to a radio over internet protocol (ROIP) system supported by a third-party provider. In 2025 we are focused on phase I of the radio replacement system and the procurement of all of the hardware and support services. We have achieved several key milestones that will be reported out in this strategic minute and are on-track for a successful phase I design and implementation.
