RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the Executive Director to execute Modification 1 to Amendment 2 to the ski bus service agreement with Morgan County
BACKGROUND:
Utah Transit Authority and Morgan County have a longstanding relationship to promote the sustainability and growth of the Ski Bus Service. On December 4, 2019 the board approved a Ski Bus Service Agreement between Morgan County and UTA for the 2019-2020 ski season that included two (2) one-year options to renew the contract. For the 2021-22 Ski Season, UTA renewed the agreement with Morgan County (approved by the board on December 8, 2021). The Ski Service Agreement allowed the County to partner with UTA to fund a portion of the operating cost of the ski bus service between Layton FrontRunner Station and Snowbasin Ski Resort and to facilitate a bus stop in the town of Mountain Green. The cost to Morgan County was $6,881 for each of the 2019-2020 and the 2020-2021 ski seasons, and $2,811 for the 2021-22 Ski Season.
DISCUSSION:
UTA and Morgan County desire to extend this agreement for one additional year. Modification 1 will extend the terms of Amendment 2 through March 26, 2023. Morgan County will continue to fund their agreed to share of the operating cost of the ski bus service between Layton FrontRunner Station and Snowbasin Ski Resort (about 7% of total operating costs). In addition, UTA will continue to provide a bus stop in Mountain Green.
