RECOMMENDATION:
Approve and authorize the Executive Director to enter into an Education Pass Agreement with Westminster University.
BACKGROUND:
UTA and Westminster University (Westminster) are longstanding partners dedicated to providing transit access to the institution’s students, faculty, and staff. From 2020 to present, the school has entered into an Education Pass Agreement with UTA annually, wherein Westminster pays for each trip taken by authorized users on UTA services, and UTA gives Westminster a twenty-five (25) percent discount on the public fare. The current contract (21-F0129-4 - approved by the Board of Trustees on July 31, 2024) is set to expire on July 31, 2025.
DISCUSSION:
In the spirit of partnership, UTA and Westminster wish to enter into a new contract for one year. The new contract term will be August 1, 2025 through July 31, 2026. All other terms of the Education Pass Agreement, including the discount of twenty-five (25) percent will remain the same.
Revenue for this contract is an estimate because Westminster is billed monthly based on actual trips during the contract period. Revenue estimates are made using ridership projections based on historical trends.
