RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the UTA-Via Service Order No. 3 and authorize UTA’s Executive Director to execute the contract and associated disbursements with River North Transit LLC (Via) for the Southern Davis County UTA On-Demand microtransit service for the amount of $2,282,200.
BACKGROUND:
The UTA - Via Service Order No. 3 is the third service order under the UTA - Via Master Services Agreement (MSA) for On Demand Technologies and Innovative Services ( approved by the UTA Board of Trustees on August 25, 2021). The service order defines the parameters for operation of the Southern Davis County UTA On-Demand microtransit service. This service will be deployed during the August 2022 UTA change day. The Southern Davis County UTA On-Demand microtransit service will be UTA’s third microtransit deployment and is defined within UTA’s Five-Year Service Plan.
DISCUSSION:
Staff will discuss the change order and proposed UTA On-Demand microtransit service, which will include an overview of the following topics:
- Purpose: UTA Five-Year Service Plan and August 2022 changes
- Microtransit service overview including goals and objectives, service area, service parameters, operating day and hours, customer experience, fares and budget.
