RECOMMENDATION:
Authorize the Executive Director to execute a purchase order and associated disbursements with CVE Technologies Group, Inc. for $262,949.81 to procure the selected hardware and associated software and licensing for network device replacements.
BACKGROUND:
The network switches and associated equipment currently installed on the rail lines are in need of replacement. These are life-cycle replacements in the state-of-good repair process defined in the 10-year IT strategy. The networking devices have reached their end of serviceable life and will be replaced with new equipment by the Network Support group.
DISCUSSION:
The IT Network Support Manager has budgeted this in 2023-2027 capital plan.
These forty-one (41) networking devices are part of UTA rail platform networks which support digital signage, ticket vending machines, security cameras, and additional network equipment on these platforms. These replacements are on multiple platforms across the system.
