AGENDA ITEM TYPE:
Report
RECOMMENDATION:
Informational report for discussion
BACKGROUND:
At the end of 2022, UTA adopted its 2022-2030 Strategic Goals and Objectives. The strategic minute provides an update on one of the five UTA strategic priorities - Quality of Life, Customer Experience, Organizational Excellence, Community Support, and Economic Return.
DISCUSSION:
This strategic minute highlights our strategic priority; Moving Utahns to a Better Quality of Life. As UTA expands our service area and our workforce it’s imperative we upgrade mission critical technologies that support our service deployment. This strategic initiative focuses on our radio system which is housed in our Enterprise Strategy Office. UTA’s radio system replacement is part of our state of good repair plan as it has exceeded its useful life. UTA will be moving to a radio over internet protocol (ROIP) system supported by a third-party provider. This report out highlights key milestones achieved year to date.
