Fare Agreement: Education Pass Agreement (Charter School Consortium)
end

AGENDA ITEM TYPE:
Service or Fare Approval

RECOMMENDATION:
Approve and authorize the Executive Director to enter into an Education Pass Agreement with the Charter School Consortium.

BACKGROUND:
UTA and the Charter School Consortium (“the Consortium”) have partnered together for many years to provide transit passes to students, faculty, and staff who attend or work at various charter schools throughout our service area.
To participate in the program, each charter school must purchase a transit pass for one hundred (100) percent of their student population. The pass is valid on all UTA services except for Paratransit and Ski Services. Ten schools across UTA’s service district currently participate in the Consortium, however the number of participating schools may vary per school year.
In 2022, UTA and the Consortium entered into a three-year agreement (22-F0284 - approved by the Board of Trustees on July 13, 2022) that expired on June 15, 2025.

DISCUSSION:
In the spirit of partnership, staff propose that the Consortium and UTA sign a one (1) year Education Pass Agreement. This agreement will give all students, faculty, and staff access to premium transit.
The value of this contract, $278,496, was determined using a standard formula, which considers the number of authorized users, estimated usage, and the types of service expected to be utilized.
