RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Resolution R2023-07-07 authorizing the handling of UTA funds, and the investment and disbursement of monies.
BACKGROUND:
Board of Trustees Policy 2.1, Financial Management, authorizes officers to open and close bank accounts and ensure that only authorized users are provided access to bank accounts and signing authority.
This resolution updates the titles of personnel that are authorized and empowered by the Board of Trustees to act on behalf of the Agency to invest or reinvest funds, establish accounts with financial institutions, and sign checks.
DISCUSSION:
On February 10, 2021, the Board of Trustees adopted Resolution R2021-02-01 authorizing the handling of funds, and the investment and disbursement of monies.
Since the February 10, 2021 Board action, there has been a change of position title from Assistant Comptroller to Deputy Comptroller and the creation of an Assistant Treasurer position. The proposed resolution will update the resolution with positions authorized to invest or reinvest and create accounts with financial institutions: the Chair, Executive Director, Treasurer, Comptroller, and Assistant Treasurer. Signing authority on checks: the Chair, Executive Director, Treasurer, Comptroller, Assistant Treasurer, and Deputy Comptroller.
