Discussion

RECOMMENDATION:
Information item for discussion.

BACKGROUND:
In December 2022, the Board of Trustees adopted the 2022-2030 Agency Strategic Plan that sets the Agency mission and vision. The plan encompasses the following five strategic priorities: Moving Utahns to a Better Quality of Life, Exceeding Customer Expectations, Achieving Organizational Excellence, Building Community Support and Generating Economic Return. Each of these priorities has goals and desired objectives associated with the improvement and impact UTA is striving to achieve in each of these areas.
In support of strategic priority measurable objectives, other recent data will be presented with this update, including key findings from a Metro Analytics economic study on the impact of investing in UTA transit on Utah’s economy.

DISCUSSION:
This will be the first performance report on UTA’s Agency strategic plan objectives since adoption. Information contained within this report reflects on UTA’s achievements and performance in 2023 in relation to each of the strategic priorities and their associated goals and objectives.
Also contained within this report is a high-level summary of key findings in a study conducted by Metro Analytics on the impact of transit investment within the state of Utah and how UTA is critical to several economic drivers including ROI, employment, and transportation efficiency savings.
