RECOMMENDATION:
Approve Resolution CR2026-07-02 Giving Notice and Setting Regular Meeting Dates for the Transit Commission of the Utah Transit Authority for the Remainder of the Calendar Year 2026.
BACKGROUND:
The Utah Public Transit District Act (Utah Code § 17B-2a-808.1) stipulates that one of the responsibilities of the Transit Commission of the Utah Transit Authority is to hold public meetings and receive public comment.
The Utah Open and Public Meetings Act (Utah Code § 52-4-2), provides that any public body which holds regular meetings that are scheduled in advance over the course of a year shall give public notice at least once each year of its annual meeting schedule and that such notice shall specify the date, time, and place of such meetings.
DISCUSSION:
The proposed 2026 meeting schedule is anticipated to meet the requirements of the Act and the needs of the Transit Commission and the agency. If additional meetings are deemed necessary, or if cancellations are needed, they will be properly noticed according to the Utah Open and Public Meetings Act.
ALTERNATIVES:
Alternative dates and times may be proposed and discussed by the Commission.
