RECOMMENDATION:

Approve Amendment 3 to the Bus Service Agreement with Farmington City Corporation in the amount of $76,350.

BACKGROUND:

Utah Transit Authority has a longstanding relationship with the city of Farmington. In 2019, Farmington City Corporation (“the City”) entered into an agreement with UTA that included three (3) one-year options to renew the contract. The city chose to renew their agreement with UTA in 2020 and 2021. This agreement allows the City to partner with UTA to fund a portion of the operating cost of the service for the “Lagoon/Station Park Shuttle” (Route 667). Per the terms of the agreement, the City agrees to pay 25 percent of the operating costs. In 2021, the City paid UTA $74,090. For 2022, the City’s share will be increased to $76,350.00.

DISCUSSION:

This action will allow UTA to continue to serve the riders of the route 667 free of cost and to attract new riders. This service is a valuable economic development tool for the City and its local partners.
