Approve award and authorize Executive Director to execute the contract and associated disbursements with R & O Construction in the amount of $3,723,287

BACKGROUND:
This request is part of the Ogden/Weber State University BRT project (OGX) and related to the expansion of the Mount Ogden Business Unit (MOBU) Bus Maintenance Bays. UTA has advertised this project and selected a contractor through a best value selection process. R & O Construction was selected based on highest score and therefore is the most advantageous bidder to UTA. UTA would like to enter a contract with R & O Construction to construct this project

DISCUSSION:
UTA staff is requesting approval to execute a contract with R & O Construction in the amount of $3,723,287 for the MOBU Bus Maintenance Bay expansion project.
This project is part of the OGX project which is federally funded. The construction of this part of the project is included in the overall grant for the project. This project will add 4 additional bays to the current maintenance facility at MOBU by expanding the building to the north. This will include the interior work and lifts needed to provide an operational facility to help accommodate the additional buses needed to operate the new OGX system. Contractor will coordinate with electrical contractor procured to install electronic bus charging equipment under the existing bus canopies. Construction will accommodate ongoing operation of the MOBU facility.
