RECOMMENDATION:
Approve and authorize the Executive Director to execute the Purchase Order and associated disbursements under a State of Utah contract MA3939 with Landmark Companies, Inc. in the not-to-exceed amount of $356,606.05 for Avenue Bus Stop Improvement Projects.
BACKGROUND:
Construction for 18 bus stop improvements including installation of bus pad, benches, and other amenities in the Avenues. UTA has selected Landmark Companies under State Contract MA3939.
DISCUSSION:
As part of an ongoing collaboration with Salt Lake City to implement the city’s Transit Master Plan, the route alignment changed for Route 209 in August 2022 to serve the Avenues neighborhood via L/M Street, 9th Avenue, C Street, 7th Avenue, E Street. The Avenues Bus Stop Improvement Project is providing improvements along this route alignment change, including bus pads, benches, and shelters where feasible. The Contract amount has been determined to be within the scope of the State Contract Scope Agreement. The pricing has been determined to be fair and reasonable based on both a UTA Independent Cost Estimate and performance of a Price Analysis.

ALTERNATIVES:
There are no alternatives. Without these shelters and handrails, we will not be able to use the stops and the routes would remain on detour.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$356,606.05 included in the Approved 2024 Capital Budget Project MSP229
